Friday at the Reader's Studio PDF E-mail

I am a little behind in my blogging, but here's a tiny taste of what our Friday contained. We began with our Foundation Readings. The Reader's Studio is set up so that you can actually see the difference it has made in your reading abilities. We begin by doing a reading with a partner with our current skill set. I was coupled with the lovely and talented Cheryl Sigler. She created a spread on the spot and gave me a lot to think about.

After our Foundation Readings were done, we were treated to Lunch-n-Learn session from Garnet. She and her belly dancin' babes related the different Tarot cards to our chakra system and to our bodies. What a blast...

After lunch, Geraldine Amaral had us working with our lifetime cards. We all have various methods for calculating them (birth cards, life path cards, whatever you choose to call them)  and she didn't care which one we picked as long as we picked one. I chose the Empress... THEN she had us working with various parts of the card. We worked with the left side of the card as past, the center as present, etc. As is often the case, when so many great tarot souls are together, creativity occurs. Pretty soon people were coming up with different ways to apply the same concept. Perhaps the card could be broken down into background to foreground... or top to bottom... the possibilities are endless. Emily Carding, with her Transparent Tarot, combined ALL of her lifetime cards into one image and worked with it. How cool is that?

The writing activity we did after this was a kind of stream of consciousness exercise, and very powerful. We worked with a partner and at the end, they wrote something in our notebooks for us in relation to our chosen birth or lifetime card (and we for them) as well as an affirmation on an index card for later reference. It is hard to convey just how powerful this kind of concentrated inner work can be. I have been to the Reader's Studio before (and thus did not attend the virgin sacrifice... don't bother asking them about it, they won't tell you!) and I never cease to be amazed at how much marvelous information I will be taking home with me. It's a good thing I am taking notes!

We wound up our evening with a cocktail party. The food was excellent. The space delightful. We had a lovely visit. I am afraid you will have to hear about the late night partying from others, because I was just exhausted and tumbled into bed by 11.

To be continued...
